Alrighty – I’m pretty much back up to regular broadcasting practices now after my little sojourn up north :)

Today I have another one of the Zoya Vibe collection – Riley…

This is in weak winter sunlight….

It’s a very nice dark red creme. Nothing that makes my heart beat faster, but it’s very nice and I think I needed a few of these classic fall-back colours in my collection just in case I need to be more conservative…sometime :)

This is 3 coats and a top of Poshe…

Sorry – bit blurry there. This is under fluoro lights…

And these two are under warm-toned downlights.

So it really looks quite nice under all conditions.

Wear was average for a Zoya creme eg. about 2 days. Not much in the way of staining either, which was nice.
Nice, nice, nice! Kind of being damned with faint praise, there.
Nice.

Now I have a few other bitsy things to mention -

Target sent out another press release about the new Bloom diffusion collection they’re releasing in Australian stores in October. You can see it here in PDF form, but the basic gist of it is that there will be 70 shades named after different cities, and bottles will be $14.95 each.
That’s only $5 cheaper than their usual polish, and at the top of my usual price limit. I certainly won’t be able to afford going completely nuts in October, then :) No word on how big the bottles are either, as the $20 ones seem quite small as well as pricey…

Now I must also just flag with for any Aussies – if you’re looking for OPI, there’s a pharmacy at Sydney domestic airport which has 150 different shades, and a throw-out table with discounts, and little mini-packs! I’ve never seen that many OPI’s in one place – pity I can’t wear any of them!

In the same pharmacy I was also blown away to find bottles of Maybelline’s Red Comet – the dupe of Ruby Pumps (and OMG – I just saw my nails from that post – they were so long back then *sob*! ) for $10.95. I bought another bottle as a back-up :) I’ve never seen that on sale anywhere in Oz, so that was a great find.

You may remember me telling you back at Xmas time last year, Promises lingerie shop at Melbourne Domestic airport had Essies. But I noticed they’ve closed down. I went into Promises at the Sydney airport, though – and they actually still have a large display there. Pity I can’t really wear them either!

Also, you may remember me mentioning Sam, the world’s most famous koala back in January when we had those terrible bushfires? Well Sam recovered from her burns, but recently came down with some other health problems and passed away today. Terribly sad – even the Prime Minister said a little piece about it. RIP Sam – I’m sure you’re chowing down on some kick-ass Eucalyptus in heaven now :)

So there you go – I think that’s everything!

PS – Oh, and do you remember those “sex toy” polishes I showed you a long time ago? Well it turned out they had formaldehyde resin in them and I was allergic, so I sent them over to Brooke and she’s modelling the first on her website now…

PPS – The Beauty Brains just posted the answers to their True/False nail questions – you may find the results surprising…

Sorry, comments for this entry are closed at this time.
