This is one for all the Aussies.
Beauty Style is a new cosmetics range popping up at certain Priceline stores around the country. I got this from a Priceline in the Melbourne CBD, but I notice my local one at Knox City still doesn’t stock it even though it’s been out for a while now. Must be something to do with the size of the store or whatever.
This is a real cheapo brand – I think the polish was about $2.95 from hazy memory. And you get what you pay for
On the bright side – completely formaldehyde free, and the colour is great. Although grape is not a colour that I associate with Glasgow normally
On the downside…well – everything else!
The formula is very runny. So runny that just wiping the brush to get rid of the excess on the lip of the bottle caused the polish to flick off and fly everywhere. By the end of application, my (thankfully old) shirt looked like a Jackson Pollock painting! No matter how careful I was, it just went everywhere. Cleanup was long and irritating as I was in a hurry.
It does look rather stunning against my green jumper, though
This is 3 coats and it’s still a little sheer.
This looks to be quite similar to Colour Club’s Power Play, which I just ordered through H2T. At first I was a bit alarmed I might have a dupe on my hands, but now I’m relieved – I love the colour, but not the polish. I’m sure the Color Club will have to be better than this!
So would I recommend these polishes? Well – yes and no. Yes if you just want something cheap and cheerful. No if you’re a fussy bugger or want something long lasting.
I have another one in a forest green I’ll show you soon…
